Cheryl Johnson, PhD

Technical Officer, WHO

Cheryl Case Johnson has been a technical officer in the Global HIV, Hepatitis, and STIs programs at the World Health Organization (WHO). At WHO, she is the HIV testing services team lead and supports cross-cutting work on self-testing and self-care, directing work on the development of normative guidelines, implementation research, and providing routine country support. Prior to joining WHO, Cheryl was a certified HIV testing counselor and worked on HIV testing and prevention in Washington, D.C., and Namibia. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as well as a Master’s Degree in Anthropology and a Certificate of Public Health from Georgia State University.
