About HIVE
HIVE is a knowledge exchange platform advancing the coverage and quality of services designed to prevent the vertical transmission of HIV, and keep pregnant, breastfeeding women, and their infants healthy. In six African countries, HIVE collaborates with ministries of health and a range of partners in the vertical transmission prevention response.
In 2026, HIVE is intensifying its focus on HIV prevention for pregnant and breastfeeding women, supporting countries in the network to enhance HIV testing services and strengthen timely linkage to prevention services, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). This focus is critical as HIVE-member countries expand PrEP options to include long-acting antiretrovirals, such as long-acting cabotegravir (CAB-LA) and lenacapavir (LEN).
