In this webinar, presenters from South Africa shared experiences integrating PrEP into postnatal and maternal and child health services, showing how coordinated service delivery models can reduce missed opportunities and strengthen PrEP uptake and persistence.
Dr. Jeannette Wessels, from the Research Center for Maternal, Fetal, Neonatal and Child Healthcare Strategies, University of Pretoria, gave an interesting presentation on the “Sihamba Kunye Side-by-Side” project, a two-year implementation science activity providing a structured and integrated postnatal care package for mothers and their infants after delivery in selected facilities.
Q&A discussions included practical strategies for embedding PrEP into routine care, streamlining client identification, counseling, and linkage to broader MNCH services.
